What it is
A water-based, two-component system for creating a transparent, three-dimensional cracked textures. It dries clear and a layer above your project so you can see what design you have under the transparent cracking gel.
How to use it
- Apply Component 1 in an even, thin coat using a clean, dry brush. Goes on white.
- Allow it to dry fully until it appears transparent.
- Spread Component 2 evenly over the first layer—use a brush, sponge, palette knife or apply through a stencil .
- You can apply thick for deep cracks or thin for smaller cracks.
- Allow the gel to air-dry naturally or you can use a heat gun moved continuously to avoid heat damage .
- Once cracks have formed, rub in antique gel, patina, or pigments to highlight the cracks.
When to use it
To create a vintage, distressed look without hiding your project underneath.
Pro Tips
- Mix with pigments to get different colors.
- The thicker the layer, the bigger and deeper cracks.
- Allow Component 1 to throughly dry before applying Component 2 or you will see
