You Won’t Believe This Thrift Flip!

Materials Needed:
- Metal frame (vintage or thrifted)
- Joie des Roses Transfer by IOD
- Scissors
- Pentart metal pigments (Rose Gold and Gold)
- Pentart pigment fix
- Brushes (medium and small)
- Antique paste (Umbra)
Step 1: Clean the Frame
- Remove the old picture and clean the frame surface to remove dust and debris.
- Decide whether to keep the original backing or add new cardstock for a smooth surface.

Step 2: Prepare the IOD Transfer
- Select the desired sections of the Joie des Roses Transfer.
- Trim the transfer to fit the frame’s dimensions or desired placement.
- Position the transfer lightly over the frame to visualize the layout.

Step 3: Apply the IOD Transfer
- Remove the protective sheet from the transfer and gently rub it onto the frame using the IOD transfer tool.
- Ensure the transfer adheres smoothly by rubbing extra over concave or uneven areas.
- Layer additional pieces of the transfer if needed for a fuller design.

Step 4: Enhance the Frame with Pentart Pigments
- Mix Pentart metal pigment (Rose Gold for the bow, Gold for the frame) with pigment fix.
- Use a medium brush to apply the pigment evenly over the frame, allowing it to dry quickly.
- For intricate areas like the bow, use a smaller brush.

Step 5: Add Depth with Antique Paste
- Apply antique paste (Umbra) to crevices for added dimension and vintage charm.
- Wipe off excess paste, leaving the darker pigment in recessed areas.

Step 6: Assemble and Finish
- Reassemble the frame with the decorated insert.
- Optionally, sign and date the back of the piece for personalization.
- Hang or display in your desired location, enjoying your unique thrift flip!

Pro Tip:
- Save any unused transfer scraps for touch-ups or future projects.
- If the frame feels too bright after painting, tone it down with dark wax or additional antique paste.
