You can download the playbook page for Fiber Paste
What it is:
A water based white paste filled with fibers that dries to a porous, handmade paper like texture. More porous then modeling paste. The fibers help to keep the shape of the design.
When to use it:
Great for nature, organic, or vintage looks. Use on altered books for texture to mimic old parchment or rough paper.
How to use it:
- Spread with a spatula or brush.
- Let dry fully.
- Can be painted or waxed when it is dry.
- Dry time depends on thickness of applied fiber paste. Generally takes 24 hours to dry fully.
Pro Tips:
- Dry brush for high-contrast texture.
- Use different tools to create different textured looks.
- Layer with stains or antiquing mediums to mimic worn surfaces.
- Fantastic under decoupage for that handmade paper look.
- Can be tinted before applying (the paste dries white, so when adding colors, this will affect the final color, it will be more opaque then the tint color)
