You can download the playbook page for Fiber Paste

What it is:

A water based white paste filled with fibers that dries to a porous, handmade paper like texture. More porous then modeling paste. The fibers help to keep the shape of the design.

When to use it:

Great for nature, organic, or vintage looks. Use on altered books for texture to mimic old parchment or rough paper.

How to use it:

  1. Spread with a spatula or brush.
  2. Let dry fully.
  3. Can be painted or waxed when it is dry.
  4. Dry time depends on thickness of applied fiber paste. Generally takes 24 hours to dry fully.

Pro Tips:

  • Dry brush for high-contrast texture.
  • Use different tools to create different textured looks.
  • Layer with stains or antiquing mediums to mimic worn surfaces.
  • Fantastic under decoupage for that handmade paper look.
  • Can be tinted before applying (the paste dries white, so when adding colors, this will affect the final color, it will be more opaque then the tint color)
