What It Is
Pentart Chrome and Chameleon Rub on Pigment is an iridescent or color-shifting pigment that gives a metallic or chameleon finish to your project depending on the light.
When to Use It
Highlight raised textures, edges, or create light-reactive effects on your project.
How to Use It
- Make sure the surface is dry and clean.
- Load a small amount onto your fingertip or a soft cloth.
- Lightly rub over your project area
- Buff gently to bring out maximum shine.
- Seal with a suitable varnish if the piece will be handled often. You can use Pentart Clear Varnish or Pentart Pouring Medium.
Pro Tips:
- Apply sparingly; build layers slowly for control.
- Use over dark base colors to intensify the color shift, I find glossy black paint works best.
- Test on a scrap first to see the shift effect.
- Use Black Heavy Body Gel or Mix Heavy Body Gel Glossy with black pigment and run through a stencil, after it dries add the pigment.
- Dust a mould before using clear resin tinted with black pigment for brilliant colors.
- For the smoothest finish use the dipping paint.
